The Holy Spirit Is Not Tongues Or A Dove

The Holy Spirit gives tongues but He’s not tongues. He’s gentle as a dove but He’s not one. He can flow like oil but He’s not oil. He can blow as a wind but He’s not a wind. He’s a wonderful Personality in the Godhead. God the invisible! He sees, talks, feels, hears, smells, directs and etc. He possesses all the attributes of a Personality even though He’s invisible and He does all that God does because He is God (John 4:24). He’s the most protected Personality in the Godhead and the Scripture is full of such warnings as: grieve not the Spirit, quench not the Spirit and blaspheme not against the Spirit.

My Personal Testimony On The Person And Power Of The Holy Spirit

When the Lord Jesus Christ visited me for the first time in mama’s little room when I was five, I received that divine Personality of the Holy Spirit into my heart or spirit. I was reborn by Him (John 3:6). He began to instruct me in Christ and reveal Him to me in the Word (John 16:13). He gave me the unquenchable passion for evangelism and my life became changed. I didn’t speak with tongues until I received the power of that same Spirit upon me. That was three years later, during an intercessory meeting organized by my aunties, in grandpa’s church. I was endued with power from on high (Luke 24:49; Acts 1:8). All it takes to be saved and get to heaven is the Spirit WITHIN-the born again experience but to live the full effective Christian life here on earth, the power of the Spirit UPON is a necessity. It is what make you a bold dynamite on fire for God, living like those believers in the book of Acts, unlike the cowering ones meeting behind lock doors for the fear of the Jewish leaders portrayed in the gospels (John 20:19).

Power From On High Or Empty Tongues?

People mix things up by reducing the Holy Spirit to tongues. Some even go to church and learn how to talk in tongues mechanically without first receiving the Spirit upon them. They learn some gibberish without the power. You can learn and imitate empty tongues but no one can teach you the Holy Spirit, even though you may learn about Him, He must be personally experienced. Carnal imitation doesn’t bring transformation, only a genuine encounter does. You see, when you receive Jesus Christ at salvation, you receive that wonderful Personality of the Holy Spirit into your heart or spirit in all His fullness. That Personality begins to teach you and reveal Christ to you in the Word. When He now comes UPON you for empowerment, like He did for the apostles in Acts 2:1-4, you then receive His power and begin to talk in tongues. It is the Spirit that gives the utterance and that can make you have sensations in your tongues of some sort but you must do the speaking, the Spirit will not do that. Waiting for Him to do the speaking is unbelief and unscriptural, it will make you wait forever without results.

The Twofold Work Of The Holy Spirit

The Spirit’s work at His coming WITHIN at salvation and His work at His coming UPON when one receives His baptism are two different experiences. One is about a divine Personality indwelling you. It is communion with the most important Person on earth that lives in the church today. The second is about the power of that same Person, and it is that power that comes with tongues. The Lord God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit WITHIN and power UPON and He went about doing good, healing all that were oppressed of the devil ,for God was with Him (Acts 10:38). His Person or presence WITHIN makes you a Christian, His power UPON makes you witness with signs!

Supernatural Youths of Love!!!

Behold I see upon my watch

I see in a vision from the Lord

The rising of a new breed of youths

They shall be far wiser beyond their age

The Spirit of the Lord is mobilizing a young army

For the end time revival that is upon us

They shall emerge from obscurity to do the impossible

The world shall no longer be worthy of them

For their affections shall be estranged from the world below.

Behold the rising of kingdom building youths

Behold the rising of the young apostles

Behold the gathering of the young prophets

Behold the going forth of the young evangelists

Behold the assembly of the young pastors

Behold the emergence of the young teachers

For a new breed of youths are rising

I am calling you to rise says the Lord

I am calling you from the unknown places

I am calling you forth from the dry places

I am calling you forth from non significant places

I am calling you forth to rise just as you are

I am calling you forth to go in thy might

For you’re the Gideons of your days

Yes, you’re the Deborahs of your days

And you shall pull down idols of secular music

You shall pull down strongholds of idolatry

You shall pull down the worship of mammon

And you shall awaken the people of the Lord

You shall call them into righteousness

Come now into the secret place with my Spirit

Let me train your hearts to carry My sword

For you must put on the amour of righteousness

Which shall make light the burden of My sword

My Word is your overcoming amour 

Do not be afraid as you go in My name

For in reality you’re not fighting for victory

You’re fighting from the Victory Place!

The warfare I have called you to is of Love

And you cannot win it with the cloak of selfishness

Let My love which is within you

Also be manifested through you

Give no place to the devil in harboring hurts

But be quick to forgive and quick to trust

And believe the best even for those opposing you

Let my love be your covering at all times

Let it be the eyes through which you see all things

For only then can you see what lays beyond the surface

When My love gains controll of you in totality!

This is the covering that overcomes fear

Yes, perfect love casts out fear & its torment

Do not allow the onslaught of guilt to grip your mind

But instead of giving a thought to sin and guilt,

Know that in Me you’re beyond condemnation

For you have become righteous in Me

Rise and spread my love to the nations

And hold fast to my Word the Swiftest sword

And with it you shall take down all that is evil

And install all that is righteousness and good

For My Kingdom shall prosper in thy heart

And in your mind and also in your hand

So rise up oh youths of Love

Rise up all youths of the light

And shine the Light where it is dark!

For Light overshadows the dark!!!

How To Identify Your GIFTS And CALLING From God

Your Gifts Are Plural But Your Calling Is Singular

To Be Able To Identify Your Calling From God, You Must First Of All Know That There Are Gifts And There Are Callings. Your Gifts Are The Gifts Of The Spirit Like Healing, Prophecy And So On (Spiritual Endowments 1Cor.12) That Are Operative In Your Life; They Are Usually More Than One. On The Other Hand, Identifying Your Calling Is So Simple; It’s What You Are Called To Do, It Is Essentially Singular, It Is Your Assignment. It Is What To Do With Your Gifts.

How Do You Know?

Your Strongest Passion Will Usually Move In The Direction Of Your Destiny. If You Have A Call To Minister To Children For Example, You Will Always See Their Needs And Want To Meet Them. God Will Frequently Expose Your Eyes To See The Needs You’re Called To Meet. The Holy Spirit Will Impress It Upon Your Mind To Do It And You Will Not Have Peace Until You Do It. Your Calling Therefore Is That Need, That Assignment, That Passion That Is Holding You So Strongly And Never Letting You Go. It Is The Most Compelling And Prevalent Of All Your Desires!

Following The Inward Witness

There Is Such Thing As The Inward Witness Of The Holy Spirit. That Is; The Spirit Witnessing To You On The Inside To Do Something (Rom. 8: 16; 9:1). Also, It Is Possible That You Can Desire To Do So Many Things That Are Not In Line With Each Other, Those Are Just Desires But Your Passion For What You’re Called To Do Is The Divine Counsel Of God And It Is Absolute, Therefore It Will Overpower All The Rests. “[There Are] Many Devices In A Man’s Heart; Nevertheless The Counsel Of The LORD- That Shall Stand” (Pro.19:21).

Your Prevailing Desire Reveals Your Calling

You May Love So Many Things, But Your Calling Is Your Prevailing Desire. It’s Your Spiritual Prevailing Desire That Lines Up With God’s Word And The Witness Of The Spirit. The Holy Spirit Will Always Deal With You In The Line Of Your Destiny, Your Assignment And Your Calling. You Must Also Know That Your Calling Is Unique, That Is; Nobody Else Can Do It As You Would Because Everybody Is Unique In This World.

Your Fruits Reveal Your Calling

Another Way To Tell What Your Calling Is Is The Fruit Or Result That Follows You. The Lord Jesus Says That A Tree Is Known By Its Fruits. “Ye Shall Know Them By Their Fruits. Do Men Gather Grapes Of Thorns, Or Figs Of Thistles? Even So Every Good Tree Bringeth Forth Good Fruit; But A Corrupt Tree Bringeth Forth Evil Fruit. A Good Tree Cannot Bring Forth Evil Fruit, Neither [Can] A Corrupt Tree Bring Forth Good Fruit. Every Tree That Bringeth Not Forth Good Fruit Is Hewn Down, And Cast Into The Fire. Wherefore By Their Fruits Ye Shall Know Them” (Math.7:16-20). Your Life Will Produce Fruit According To Your Ministry!

Some Gifts And Calling Revealing Questions

Ask Yourself And Try To Answer These Questions;

1. What Fruits Follow You?

2. What Do You Do Well?

3. What is it that People Get Blessed When You Do?

4. What Do You Feel Fulfilled When You Do?

Therefore, That Thing That You Do Well, That You Feel Very Fulfilled When You Do, That Edifies People When You Do, And Produces Godly Fruit, The-Same Is Your Calling. Moreover, Your Calling Is Between Your Abilities, It Is Ever Pressing And It Won’t Let You Go.

Some Characteristics Of Your Calling

• It’s Biblical

• It’s Fulfilling

• It Brings You Peace

• It’s Productive

• You Can Do It

• It Won’t Let You Go

• It Fills Your Mind

• It Moves Your Passion

• The Holy Spirit Moves You To Do It

Your Calling Is Within Your Ability

Notice That You Won’t Have To Strain Yourself To Do Your Calling Because It’s Within Your Ability. When You Step Into Another Person’s Calling You Will Struggle Fruitlessly. A Good Example Is The King Saul, He Was Only A King, Not A Prophet Or Priest But His Fall Came When He FORCED Himself To Perform A Sacrifice (Out Of Fear) Which Was Only Within The Power And Office Of Samuel Who Was Both A Prophet And Priest To Do (See 1Sam. 13:8-14). Stay Within Your Calling And Be Faithful To It. Your Anointing, Ability And Productivity Only Lies Within The Sphere Of Your Calling.

Some Biblical Personalities And Their Callings

• Paul’s Calling Was To Preach To The Gentiles (Rom.11:13). It Was So Strong That He Said To Himself “Woe Unto Me If I Do Not Preach The Gospel”. Your Calling Isn’t Optional, It’s A Pressing Necessity (1Cor.9:16).

• Peter’s Calling Was To Build The Church By Preaching Mostly To The Jews (Gal.2:7-8). He Ran Back To Fishing (His Former Trade) But The Lord Wouldn’t Let Go Of Him. Your Calling Won’t Let You Go And Until You Obey It. The Holy Spirit Will Always Point Your Heart In That Direction (John 21:1-19).

Specification

Every Calling Has Specifications Like Paul Was To The Gentiles And Peter To The Jews. Even If You Mistake, God Will Still Restore You To Your Calling. An Example Of Full Restoration Is Seen When Peter Denied Jesus Three Times And Three Times The Lord Gave Him An Opportunity To Say ‘I LOVE YOU’ To Him Again (Math. 26:69-75; John 21:15-17). God Does Not Call People Because They Are Perfect, Instead He Perfects People Because They Are Called “Moreover Whom He Predestined, These He Also Called; Whom He Called, These He Also Justified; And Whom He Justified, These He Also Glorified” (Rom.8:30). Your Ministry Isn’t Something To Be Waited For But A Destination To Be Achieved. Step Out In Faith!!!

How to Prophesy

prophesy fb“…O that all Jehovah’s people were prophets! That Jehovah would put His Spirit upon them!”-Num. 11:29 YLT

“For ye may all prophesy one by one, that all may learn, and all may be comforted” -1Cor. 14:31.

The Holy Spirit builds up, stirs up the and cheers up the Church. He is a Spirit and so He needs a mouth to speak building up, stirring up and cheering up words to the people. The Church which is made up of you and I is the temple or physical body of the Holy Spirit (1Cor.6:19) but how often we deny Him the use of our mouth for His ministry of prophecy.  Because we all have the Holy Spirit the Bible says we all can prophesy “For you can all prophesy one by one, that all may learn and all may be encouraged” (1Cor.14:31). Prophecy is simple; it is speaking forth or writing down words by divine inspiration that builds up, stirs up and cheers up the hearer(s). This is why the Bible says that every believer may prophesy and that includes YOU. So a New Testament prophetic person is anyone who primarily speaks unto others; edification which means building up, exhortation which means stirring up and comfort which means cheering up (See 1Cor.14:3). Now these words could either be spoken, written or sung. You can make it a practice to pray and have God fill your mind and heart with words of grace and encouragement that will bless someone around you. You may give such words directly o people or them through letters, phone conversation, text messages, emails, Facebook and so on. Someone needs a word from God through you today. These words will come to your heart in form of thoughts but you need to have faith enough to speak or write them down. Learn to trust your thoughts and doubt your doubts! Just because no one hits the ‘like button’ on your Facebook wall or comment over your posts doesn’t mean no body reads them or nobody gets blessed by them, if you keep on doing it you will soon begin to get amazing responses. Keep on prophesying! It’s one way to spread God’s love!

The Bible establishes that you can prophesy for as much as you have faith to prophesy (see Rom.12:6). Some can give short words while others can give long words. However, either short or long ensure that it blesses the hearers. Do not be afraid of making mistakes because without mistakes there is no mastery. A little child who never takes the first step to walk for the fear that he might fall may never use his leg in life. Fear cripples our potentials. Fear builds up in us when our faith in God’s love wanes. “There is no fear in love; but perfect love casts out fear, because fear involves torment. But he who fears has not been made perfect in love” (1John 4:18). God is Love and Love is the ultimate (1John 4:8, 16).  If you love people and desire to encourage them through words from God you should not be afraid of making mistakes. Mistakes are part of the learning process because they are the ladders to perfection. Your prophetic word doesn’t have to be spectacular because I’ve even witnessed words as simple as “God loves you” touch peoples heart and drive them to tears…What are you waiting for, start practicing prophesying by faith and love.

If you will have faith to prophesy you must learn to always abide in love because our faith only works by love (Gal. 5:6). So it becomes difficult to walk by genuine faith if we fail to walk in genuine love. Walking in love is loving people in words and deeds. In this walk, we do not harbor resentments or keep hurts in our hearts but we forgive always because love covers a multitude of sins (1Pet. 4:8). If we allow hurts to build in our hearts, it will taint our prophetic spirit and start polluting our prophetic vision and utterances. People who prophesy from hurts and wounds which they have not allowed to be healed usually prophecies destruction rather than construction and cursing rather than blessings. Such do much damage to others instead of speaking the truth in love to build up the hearers in Christ. Hurt people hurt people as the old saying goes but we can forgive and let go of all wounds and inner hurts so that we can become healed people that heals people.

We should let go of hurts so that our emotions doesn’t taint God’s truth before the people. Moses did not let go of his hurts and instead of speaking to the rock to bring forth water as God instructed him, he hit the rock twice in anger and portrayed God as angry when He was not (Num. 20: 7-13). Needless to say, the consequence of that action was terrible. God’s prophetic people must not just be bearers of His gifts and words but also bearers of His character of love, joy, peace, self control and so on (See Gal. 5:22-23). Prophetic words that make people afraid and confused are usually from tainted (polluted) prophetic spirits because God isn’t the author of fear and confusion (2Tim.1:7; 1Cor.14:33). A prophetic word that comes from God will definitely agree with His nature of love and brings peace, comfort and edification to the hearer. Even if it is correction, it must be done in love and concern so that it doesn’t bring damage but repentance and improvement. Love is a universal language, keep speaking it!
