Communion with the Holy Spirit is like standing at the edge of a great sea and attempting to reach further. It’s a journey into the deep from the shallow to the deepest until deep calls unto deep.
“Deep calls unto deep at the noise of your waterspouts: all your billows are gone over me.” (Psalm 42:7)
We begin with our feet in the water, and then we go even further. We reach where the water has taken up the knee, but we are not to stop there. “For God so loved the WORLD” is a wonderful phrase. If God didn’t love us unconditionally, we would have no hope.
John 3:16 gives us a picture of God’s love: “For God so greatly loved and dearly prized the world that He [even] gave up His only begotten (unique) Son, so that whoever believes in (trusts in, clings to, relies on) Him shall not perish (come to destruction, be lost) but have eternal (everlasting) life” (The Amplified Bible).
